The professional law for physicians regulates all rights and duties of physicians, from access to the profession to the consequences of a breach of professional duties.

The medical professional law is based on the professional code of conduct. These are adopted by the respective (state) medical association on the basis of its chamber or medical profession laws. It regulates which professional duties and principles every physician must observe when exercising his profession.
